Moby a fost primul artist pe care l-am descoperit dupa ce am pus capat perioadei Eminem 
.
Moby s-a nascut in Harlem, New York (hi hi) in 1965.
Porecla/nickname-ul de Moby i-a fost data de parintii lui cand era mic, si este legat de faptul ca (stra?)strabunicul sau a scris cartea Moby-Dick (Herman Melville).
Dupa ce a obtinut o diploma in sociologie, Moby s-a concentrat asupra muzicii.
Primul succes a fost “Go” in 1989, melodie care are la baza sound-ul din “Laura Palmers Theme” , melodie din soundtrack-ul serialului Twin Peaks.
In 1999 a scos albumul Play, un album excelent, care l-a impins pe Moby binisor in main-stream.
In 2001, intrebat ce parere are despre Eminem intr-un interviu, l-a numit pe acesta misogin si homofob (lucruri adevarate) ceea ce l-a enervat foarte tare pe mister Slim Shady (nu stiu de ce, din moment ce si el spune asta despre el in cateva melodii); raspunsul lui Eminem a venit in melodia “Without me”, declarand despre Moby ca e un “36-year-old baldheaded fag” si “let go.. it’s over.. nobody listens to techno”.
Ca urmare, Moby si-a reafirmat preferintele heterosexuale 
in jurnalul/blogul pe care il tine pe site-ul sau oficial. L-am urmarit si eu o perioada, are un stil dragutz de a scrie, a sputea sa il recomand i gues.
Intamplarea a mai avut un episod, la MTV Music awards din anul acela, cand Triumph the insult comic dog , un caine marioneta care rade de celebritati, l-a intrebat pe Moby de ce i-a spus Eminem “a 36-year-old baldheaded fag”, cand, in primul rand, el are 35 de ani.
Eminem, probabil jignit de acest moment din show (de ce?), s-a ridicat cu cativa prieteni maricei de-ai lui si au mers unde statea Moby in public pentru a “incerca” sa il faca pe cel care avea marioneta sa inceteze; MTV, speriati ca niste little girls de ceea ca se intampla ceva ce ei nu au planuit, au trecut repede la urmatorul moment.

)
Moby este un vegetarian convis (de fapt vegan; vegan inseamna ca nu mananca si nu foloseste nimic ce provine de la animale). Intr-unul din eseele pe care le-a scris (si care puteau fi citite gratis pe site-ul lui, acum nu le mai gasesc acolo) spunea ”Ai putea sa te uiti in ochii unui animal si sa ii spui, ‘apetitul meu este mai important decat suferinta ta’” (parere pe care o impartasesc ).
